ICE & POP

Questions:
My idea for this project was to show off my new puppy. I thought what a better way to do that then cover a framed picture of her in pictures of her. A success that I had was coloring onto the picture “ICE & POP”. A struggle for that was the frame that I colored I didn’t particularly like. I think it looked sloppy and rushed. Another success that I had was the matte board fitting into the frame of “B O O N E”, at first I don’t think the picture would fit, but it did! A struggle with that piece is the stickers staying stuck onto the frame, it just doesn’t seem like it will last.

5 Step Critique: (B O O N E)
1. Observe
2. Describe
A picture of a girl in blue jeans and a black top. She is in the woods with a small white dog with tan spots. The dog has a yellow harness and leash w/ pineapples. It’s presented in a wooden frame with stickers of the dog completely covering it.
3. Analyze
This piece uses the element of art space, but creating limited empty space around the photo, but still keeping space around the main subject. It also uses the principle of design pattern, because the pictures on the outside repeat. Overall creating a patterned look on the frame.
4. Interpret
This piece creates its meaning for me, ultimately taking me back to the first weekend I had my puppy. For other people, I feel like it creates happiness because puppies make people happy.
5. Judge
I would give this piece a 7/10. I’m definitely going to be putting this in my room. I think it was a success, but I think next time I would like to find a way to make the stickers, stick more.
